President Bush signs "Trade Act of 2002"
into law on August 6, 2002

H.R. 3009, the "Trade Act of 2002," (P.L. 107-210) incorporates provisions of multiple trade bills, which were previously reported by the Committee on Ways and Means:

  • H.R. 3005, the "Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2002,"

  • H.R. 3008, the "Trade Adjustment Assistance Reform Act of 2002,"

  • H.R. 3009, the "Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act,"

  • H.R. 3010, a bill to amend the Trade Act of 1974 to extend the Generalized System of Preferences until December 31, 2006, and

  • H.R. 3129, the "Customs Border Security Act of 2002."
