  • Oversight and Income Security and Family Support Subcommittees Advisory No. OV-6 -- Congressman John Lewis (D-GA), Chairman, Subcommittee on Oversight, and Congressman Jim McDermott (D-WA), Chairman, Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, today announced a joint hearing to review the effect of the economic downturn and increased unemployment on the demand for hunger-relief assistance at food banks and other charities.  The hearing will take place on Thursday, November 19, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the main Committee hearing room, 1100 Longworth House Office Building.
