Death Tax Elimination Act Now Scores at $185.5B Over 10 Years

HR 8 Re-estimated to Save Taxpayers $185.5B Over 10 Years, Rather Than $193B As Was Originally Scored by JCT

WASHINGTON – Due to an error in estimating, the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) has revised its 10-year revenue estimate for HR 8, the Death Tax Elimination Act of 2001. The JCT original estimate of the revenue impact of the legislation was $193B over 10 years. The JCT revised estimate is now $185.5B over 10 years.
