Washington, DC - Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA) today announced that Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) will be the two new Republican Members of the Ways and Means Committee for the 107th Congress.  For more information about the Congressional careers and biographies of Reps. “I’m very pleased to welcome both Congressman Brady and Congressman Ryan to the Ways and Means Committee.  Both of them are talented additions to our team.  We have a great deal of work to accomplish in this session of Congress, and I’m confident that these two Members will help us achieve our goals on behalf of the American people on whose trust and support we depend,” said Chairman Thomas.

“I am very gratified and deeply humbled to be chosen to serve on the Ways and Means Committee. I am looking forward to working with President-elect Bush and Chairman Thomas as we work to provide the American people with tax relief and reform Medicare and Social Security,” said Rep. Brady.

“I am pleased and honored to have been selected to serve on this key committee.  This new assignment will give me the chance to tackle many issues critical to the constituents I serve, particularly Social Security, Medicare reform, and tax reform. I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues on these and other vital issues,” said Rep. Ryan.
