Tuesday, February 13, 2001

Hearing Today, Feb. 13th in 1100 Longworth, at 10:00 a.m.

WASHINGTON - Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill will appear before the Ways and Means Committee today to testify on President Bush’s tax relief proposals. A full witness list follows below. The hearing will be held today, February 13th, at 10:00 a.m. in 1100 Longworth HOB.

“If a tax cut is to give any boost to our economy, we must act quickly. Many people in America are starting to feel real economic strains with layoffs, higher heating bills, and erosion of consumer confidence. It’s time to work quickly to help the American people through these uncertain economic times. Moreover, tax relief will put hardworking Americans in control so that they can determine how best to use their hard-earned money,” said Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA).
