Statement of Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA) on Proposals to Expedite Tax Relief to Taxpayers This Year:

WASHINGTON - Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA) issued the following statement in response to various proposals being offered to make tax relief retroactive to FY 2001.

"I am open to any appropriate and responsible proposal that might help our economy and American taxpayers in a more accelerated fashion. I look forward to working with President Bush, the Members of the Ways and Means Committee, and other congressional colleagues on the best way to accomplish this worthwhile goal."
