Beefing Up U.S. Borders and
Helping Support Children Is Dual
Focus of Committee Markup on Wednesday

 WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, October 17, the Committee will meet in Room 1100 Longworth House Office Building at 4:00 p.m. for consideration of two pieces of legislation.   One bill will provide Customs with more tools to secure our borders, and the other bill will enhance programs for needy children.

Markup of:

1.     H.R. 2873, the “Promoting Safe and Stable Families Amendments of 2001.”  Legislation was marked up in the Subcommittee on Human Resources on September 25.

2.     H.R. 3129, the “Customs Border Security Act of 2001.”  Legislation of the Subcommittee on Trade.
