TIME FOR ACTION, SENATOR DASCHLE!

Like a third grader taking a math test, Senator Daschle can’t wait for recess.

Faced with the alternative – passing responsible and effective legislation to stimulate the economy – Senator Daschle seems to prefer to watch the clock run out.

As consumer confidence drops and economic growth plunges into negative territory, as layoffs increase nationwide, our President has urged action; our people demand it. But the Senator waits.

Now he says the Senate may not even move a bill unless the Democrats get their way on one specific provision. Because hidden under the politics of the moment lies that old familiar Democratic refrain: spend; penalize the nation’s employers; spend some more.

Time for action, Senator.  The House of Representatives has fulfilled its constitutional responsibility to America's citizens in these troubled times by passing a stimulus bill that will keep people employed.  Time for the Senate to do the same.
