Chairman Thomas Announces Markup for Several Trade Measures

WASHINGTON – On Friday, October 5, the Committee will consider four trade measures, including the bipartisan compromise on trade promotion authority.  The markup will be held in Room 1100 Longworth House Office Building at 9:00 a.m.

Legislation to be considered:

  1. H.R. 3005, the “Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2001.”
  2. H.R.  3009, the “Andean Trade Preferences Act of 2001”
  3. H.R. 3008, A bill to reauthorize the trade adjustment assistance program under the Trade Act of 1974.
  4. H.R. 3010, A bill to amend the Trade Act of 1974 to extend the Generalized System of Preferences until December 31, 2002.
