For Immediate Release Letter Debunks Liberal Class Warfare Claims WASHINGTON - In a recent letter to the editor of the New York Times (see attached), Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, set the record straight with regard to President Bush's historic tax relief bill. “Unfortunately, partisan think-tanks and Democratic politicians have tried to blur the truth regarding the Bush tax cut, which allowed American families to keep more of their hard-earned money,” said Bill Thomas (R-CA), Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. “The Bush tax cut is creating economic growth, more jobs and higher wages for workers. All Americans are benefiting significantly. “Senator Grassley is to be commended for making clear that President Bush's tax cut provided the greatest tax relief to middle income taxpayers but also provided some reductions for those who pay the most taxes - that’s fair and much needed tax relief.” Thomas concluded. |
