Homeland Security Slated for Committee Action

WASHINGTON - This week, the Ways and Means Committee will act on the President's proposal to create a new Department of Homeland Security. A markup of H.R. 5005, the Homeland Security Act of 2002, has been scheduled to consider incorporating the U.S. Customs Service -- an agency in the Committee's jurisdiction -- into the new Department.
