Protecting and Improving the Social Security Program

WASHINGTON - Tomorrow, key stakeholders will hold a press conference highlighting the Social Security Program Protection Act of 2002, which is slated for floor action later that day.

The Social Security program has increasingly become the target of fraud and abuse. With $465 billion in benefits sent out last year, it is vitally important that the program appropriately delivers funds to its proper beneficiaries. This week, lawmakers will vote on legislation intended to ensure the integrity of the Social Security program.
