Thomas Statement on the Departure of
JCT Chief Lindy Paull

WASHINGTON - Today, Ways and Means Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA) made the following statement on the departure of Lindy Paull, chief of staff to the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT):

“I have had the pleasure of working with Lindy over the past several years. Her knowledge of tax issues has been a benefit to Congress, especially to the Committee on Ways and Means.

I want to thank Lindy for her devoted service to the Joint Committee on Taxation. Her assistance was critical in delivering tax relief to Americans through President Bush’s Tax Cut and economic growth through the Job Creation and Worker Assistance Act.

Even though Lindy will be missed, I am confident she will take on her next role with the same vigor and determination she has demonstrated at JCT.”

As incoming Chairman of the Joint Committee of Taxation, Mr. Thomas will lead the selection process for a new chief of staff. It is anticipated that this selection will be completed early in the 108th Congress.
