During the Obama Administration (that is, between January 2009 and July 2012), the number of people not in the labor force has grown by 7.8 million, according to the Department of Labor’s household survey.  Meanwhile, during that same time, employment has grown by only 33,000 according to the same official government survey.  This means that during the Obama Administration, new workforce dropouts have outnumbered new employees by 237 to 1.
