Camp Statement on April Jobs Report

May 2, 2014 — Press Releases

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) issued the following statement on the April jobs report.

“The increase in jobs is certainly welcome news after the very troubling GDP numbers earlier this week.  However, when we look at all the data, it is clear we need to be making much bigger gains both in terms of jobs and economic growth.  That is why the Ways and Means Committee continues to focus on permanent tax reforms that can help American employers create more jobs and invest in new equipment and operations.  We have to break out of this habit of allowing fundamental economic policy to expire for a year, and then retroactively put it back in place.  No wonder businesses aren’t responding well.  It is time to give families and businesses the certainty they need to plan for the future.”
