Brady Statement on House Passage of Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2021

Urges Senate to work with House to resolve the cost issue so this long overdue reform for patients becomes law.

After the House passed H.R. 3173, the “Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2021,” Ways and Means Republican Leader Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement.

“I am a strong supporter of the policies included in H.R.3173, the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2021. These reforms are long overdue for both patients and their treating physicians.

“However, given the significant, last-minute cost of the bill as estimated at $16.2 billion by the Congressional Budget Office, it’s vitally important the CBO score be thoroughly analyzed and the cost offset. I had expected this basic responsibility would have occurred in the House — now I strongly urge the Senate to work with us to resolve the cost issue so this vital bill becomes law.”
