H.R. 4058: Preventing Sex Trafficking and Improving Opportunities for Youth in Foster Care Act

On February 14, legislation was introdcuced to prevent and respond to the sex trafficking of children in foster care. The foster care legislation, the Preventing Sex Trafficking and Improving Opportunities for Youth in Foster Care Act (HR 4058), is a bipartisan measure introduced by HR Subcommittee Chairman Reichert and Ranking Member Doggett, as well as many other Members of the Committee. The bill was introduced in February following a Human Resources Subcommittee hearing in October, and the public release of a draft bill in December. The Senate Finance Committee passed similar legislation in December.
