HEARING: Oversight Subcommittee Hearing on Improving Efforts to Combat Health Care Fraud

Focus Of The Hearing:
The hearing will focus on current policies and programs designed to prevent and punish Medicare fraud, as well as new and innovative practices aimed at preventing health care fraud in the private sector. The hearing will also explore how the public sector and private sector can learn from each other about new tools to combat Medicare fraud, waste, and abuse.

Aghaegbuna “Ike” Odelugo,
Plead guilty to state and federal charges related to Medicare fraud. According to the Department of Justice, the total amount paid by Medicare as a result of Odelugo’s scheme was approximately $9,933,354.27*.  He has been assisting law enforcement while awaiting sentencing in May.
