Washington, DC – Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI) today issues the following reaction to President Obama’s press conference:

“It is very disturbing that the President refused to stand by his promise that Americans would be able to keep their doctor and health care plan if they wanted to.  If there is a government-run plan that pays at Medicare rates, which is what the House Democrat bill proposes, 120 million Americans stand to lose their current health insurance.  I think it is becoming clear that, just as it was with stimulus, the President is caving-in to Speaker Pelosi and Democrats in Congress who not only want to put Washington, DC, in charge of our economy, but also the nation’s health care system.”
