Camp Applauds Creation of Bipartisan U.S.- South Korea Trade Agreement Working Group

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Ranking Member Dave Camp (R-MI) applauded the efforts of fellow committee member Dave Reichert (R-WA) to launch a bipartisan U.S.- South Korea Trade Agreement working group.

“Now that the President has announced a process to consider the U.S.- South Korea trade agreement,  Congress and the administration must work closely together and in a bipartisan manner to resolve outstanding issues. Congressman Reichert’s leadership on forming this bipartisan working group is to be commended, and I believe this effort will help us achieve our goal of implementing the agreement and making job-creating U.S. exports competitive in this vital market

BACKGROUND: Congressman Dave Reichert will hold a press conference today, Wednesday, June 30 at 11 a.m., to launch the bipartisan Congressional U.S.- South Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) Working Group.  Other members scheduled to attend the press conference will include: U.S. Reps. Bobby Bright (D-AL), Peter Roskam (R-IL), Diane Watson (D-CA), Erik Paulsen (R-MN), Adam Smith (D-WA), and Ambassador Han Duk-soo, Republic of Korea, and Ms. Selina Jackson, Corporate Co-Chair, U.S.-Korea FTA Business Coalition.  The press conference will take place at the U.S. House Press Triangle.
