Camp Announces Congressman Erik Paulsen to Serve as Acting Chairman of Human Resources Subcommittee

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) announced that Congressman Erik Paulsen (R-MN) has been named the Acting Chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Human Resources.  Paulsen, who is the highest-ranking Republican on the Subcommittee following the retirement of former Chairman Geoff Davis, will serve in this capacity for the remainder of the 112th Congress.

Chairman Camp said, “Congressman Paulsen has been actively engaged in the work of the Human Resources Subcommittee throughout this Congress.  I appreciate that he has agreed to lead the subcommittee for the remainder of the year, and I am confident that he will do a terrific job in his new role.”

Acting Chairman Paulsen said, “It is an honor to be named Acting Chairman of the House Ways and Means Human Resources Subcommittee.  I look forward to this new challenge of leading the subcommittee which oversees welfare reform and important programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Unemployment Insurance, and Supplemental Security Income.”
