WASHINGTON, DC — Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement on the release of the full text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement.
“Expanding economic freedom through trade is crucial to grow America’s economy. I look forward to carefully reviewing the text of this important agreement to see whether it meets the Trade Promotion Authority negotiating objectives set out by Congress earlier this year. Thanks to TPA, the American people now have the opportunity to review TPP months before the president can sign it and Congress can consider it. I will study the agreement carefully, consult with my colleagues and constituents in the coming months, and give the administration the opportunity to answer all of our questions and address our concerns before we vote on it.”
