Brady Statement on January Jobs Report

February 03, 2017

Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement in response to the Department of Labor’s January 2017 jobs report:

“Today’s jobs report is good news. Our economy is gaining some ground—but we have a lot of work ahead of us to get our economy running at full speed. House Republicans have proposed bold solutions to create jobs, increase paychecks, and improve the lives of workers and families across America. We’re taking steps to eliminate the burdensome taxes and regulations and backwards policies established under the Obama Administration, and move forward with reforms that help all Americans thrive in the 21st century. After meeting with President Trump yesterday, I’m even more excited and optimistic about the results we will deliver.”

Note: The Department of Labor reported today the economy added 227,000 jobs in January and the unemployment rate was 4.8 percent.
