Brady Applauds President Trump’s Leadership on Health Care

October 12, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s Executive Order Promoting Health Care Choice and Competition:

“I applaud President Trump for his leadership on health care today. We made a promise to rescue millions of Americans from Obamacare’s failures – to lower premiums, expand choices, and put patients back in control of their health care. The House delivered on that promise by passing the American Health Care Act, but the Senate fell short. And now, the Trump Administration is doing what it can from the executive branch to provide relief.

“His executive order is an important step toward a patient-centered system based on competition and choice – not one-size-fits-all federal rules and regulations. It includes commonsense bipartisan ideas we passed in the House, like expanding health reimbursement accounts, that will help Main Street job creators – and more importantly the millions of people they employ – access the care that’s right for them at a cost they can afford.”
