Brady Statement on November 2017 Jobs Report

December 08, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement in response to the Labor Department’s November 2017 jobs report:

“This report shows another month of steady, positive job creation. Businesses are growing, more Americans are finding jobs, and our economy is getting stronger. As Republicans move forward on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, I am confident that our economy will continue to improve.

“Congress is now the closest it has been in a generation to passing historic tax reform that will improve the lives of all Americans. In the days ahead, the House and Senate will finalize legislation that will help our workers find good-paying jobs, help our businesses compete and win here at home and around the world, and help our families keep more of their hard-earned money for what matters most to them. When President Trump signs this legislation into law, Americans will have a new tax code for the New Year.”

Note: The U.S. Department of Labor reported today that the economy added 228,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate was 4.1 percent.
