Washington, D.C. – House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health Chairman Peter Roskam (R-IL) announced today that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing entitled “Identifying Innovative Practices and Technology in Health Care.” The hearing will focus on innovative practices and technologies used in the private sector that are disrupting the broken status quo in the health care system and how policy makers can deploy these methods to modernize the Medicare program. The hearing will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in 1100 Longworth House Office Building, beginning at 10:00 AM.
Upon announcing this hearing, Chairman Roskam said:
“This is a continuation of an important series of hearings on showcasing true innovators in health care. Whether it is through visionary delivery models or through the use of leading-edge technology, there is innovation happening all over America. However, under the antiquated rules that govern the Medicare program, many of these innovations cannot benefit America’s seniors. We look forward to hearing the inspired testimony from our witnesses and hope it can inform us on steps we need to take to modernize Medicare.”
