WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam (R-IL) announced today that the Subcommittee will hold a hearing on “The Current Status of and Quality in the Medicare Advantage Program.” The hearing will focus on opportunities to improve and grow the Medicare Advantage program. The witnesses will speak to the operation of high quality plans and challenges faced by new emerging insurers, consumer interactions with Medicare Plan Finder, and quality measurement in the program. The hearing will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in 1100 Longworth House Office Building, beginning at 10:00 AM.
Upon announcing the hearing, Chairman Roskam said:
“For many years, the Medicare Advantage program has provided quality care to our seniors and adults with disabilities; this Health Subcommittee hearing will examine policies that will improve the Medicare Advantage benefit that is so vital to these patients. Every day, 10,000 Americans are added to the Medicare rolls and we have a responsibility to ensure they receive the best care available. We look forward to hearing from our witnesses and hope that their testimony will give us an opportunity to explore options that will allow us to improve and expand this important program.”
