Washington, D.C. – Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after Rep. George Holding (R-NC) announced his decision to retire at the end of the 116th Congress:
“It has been an honor to serve with such a good, smart, thoughtful man as George Holding on the Ways and Means Committee. From passing historic tax reform, modernizing our trade agreements, protecting innovation in health care, expanding rural health-care access, and working together to secure needed funding for hurricane relief for our states, George has always led with integrity and a selfless desire to get the job done. He’s been a champion for North Carolina here in Washington, and his retirement is a big loss for America. Cathy and I wish him, his wife Lucy, and their four children all the best. He will be missed.”
