Washington, D.C. – The top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement in response to the Labor Department’s February jobs report:
“A sound economy is key to facing global storms – and today’s jobs report shows that our workforce remains strong, helping our economy to withstand the impact of the coronavirus. Adding 273,000 jobs last month and with unemployment remaining at half-century lows, our workers and Main Street businesses have the stamina to continue growing, even as other countries have to pause supply chains in order to combat this health crisis. But we cannot rely on economic growth alone, which is why House Republicans will continue to work with President Trump and our Democrat colleagues to continue to promote health, workplace and community safety, and ultimately developing a cure until we can put an end to the coronavirus.”
