WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Senate must follow the House of Representatives’ lead and swiftly enact, H.R. 1156, the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Enforcement Act, before the statute of limitations expires on March 27th to ensure criminals that stole pandemic-era unemployment insurance (UI) benefits are prosecuted and recoup potentially hundreds of billions of tax dollars, according to key advocacy groups supporting the legislation.
