Smith: “Permanently extending the Trump tax cuts will boost working-class Americans’ incomes, save millions of jobs, revive domestic manufacturing, and grow the economy.”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08) released the following statement to mark President Trump’s first 100 days of his second term:
“President Donald Trump is making good on his promises to the American people: securing the southern border, stabilizing food prices, lowering the cost of gas, and attracting $7 trillion in new investments. His aggressive trade policies have brought over 100 countries to the negotiating table to level the playing field for American manufacturers, workers, and farmers. With each passing day, America is becoming safer and more prosperous thanks to President Trump’s leadership.
“President Trump has laid out an ambitious economic agenda for working families, small businesses, and farmers, for which he was elected, and now it is up to Congress to deliver. One, big, beautiful bill will allow us to implement President Trump’s agenda including no taxes on tips, overtime pay, Social Security, and bringing manufacturing back to America. Permanently extending the Trump tax cuts will boost working-class Americans’ incomes, save millions of jobs, revive domestic manufacturing, and grow the economy. Congress must move quickly to provide tax relief and certainty for the millions of families and small businesses who will be hit with a tax increase if the Trump tax cuts are not extended.
“100 days is just the beginning. Under President Trump’s leadership, House Republicans will help to usher in a new era of American prosperity and strength.”
