The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Ends Taxpayer-Funded Health Benefits for Illegal Immigrants

June 02, 2025

Illegal immigrants will no longer be able to pocket taxpayer-funded benefits meant for American citizens, thanks to The One, Big, Beautiful Bill which passed the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill shuts off access to billions of dollars of Obamacare premium tax credits and Medicare benefits for illegal immigrants, whose immigration status was expanded and abused in recent years by the Biden-Harris Administration – allowing them to qualify for health care benefits funded by working Americans.

“The American people made it clear in November they are fed up with their government putting them last. For four years, Joe Biden and his Border Czar Kamala Harris turned our border into a welcome mat for illegal immigrants and sent the bill to working Americans. Now, under President Trump’s leadership, we are putting our citizens first by ending taxpayer funded handouts to illegal immigrants and ensuring those dollars flow to hardworking Americans instead,” said Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (MO-08).

During his administration, President Biden took over 600 immigration-related executive actions that sanctioned the largest influx of illegal immigrants in U.S. history. Over that time, the Biden-Harris Administration admitted and protected millions of illegal immigrants, while abusing immigration statuses to claim them as “lawfully present” in the U.S., making them eligible for benefits funded by American taxpayers, such as Obamacare and Medicare benefits.

Examples include:

  • Jose Ibarra, the murderer of Georgia student Laken Riley, and asylum applicant.
  • 2.8 million immigrants admitted under Biden-Harris’ unlawful use of mass-parole.
  • More than 700,000 illegal immigrants under the Biden-Harris Administration had their cases dismissed, terminated, or administratively closed, allowing them to stay in the U.S. indefinitely.
  • More than 400,00 asylum applicants whose applications were subsequently denied.
  • 95 percent of Venezuela Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries and 91 percent of Haiti TPS beneficiaries, who entered the U.S. without inspection, provided little or no information about the reason for their entry, and were illegally paroled into the U.S.
  • Nearly 60,000 Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients with arrest records.
  • Immigrants under a deportation order by a judge but are still residing in the U.S.
