Washington, DC – Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade, today applauded the Administration for reaffirming its commitment to seek to resolve outstanding issues with Russia to pave the way for that country’s membership in the World Trade Organization and for negotiating the re-opening of the Russian market for U.S. poultry exports.

“I’ve long supported Russia’s accession to the WTO, which will benefit U.S. exporters of beef, poultry, high-tech goods, autos and others, but Russia must first make significant changes in its economy to allow it to be a responsible member.  While I’m pleased the President is working with Russia on a timeline for it to do this, it begs the question – where is the timeline for the Colombia, Panama, and South Korea trade agreements?”
