Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) released the following statement in reaction to the news that Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, will be retiring from the company July 1, 2014.
“The reinvention and turnaround of Ford Motor Company is due in large part to the leadership and dedication of Alan Mulally. His tenure in Detroit will be remembered by his efforts to reinvigorate the U.S. automotive industry that Michigan prides itself on, both at home and abroad. With Alan at the wheel, Ford has maintained its historic role as a leader in the automotive industry, acting as an important partner in finding new markets and consumers across the globe for top-quality U.S. cars. His impact has been felt beyond just the automotive industry. He has been a national leader on trade and tax policy that has helped buoy our economy during some of the toughest times. I have great admiration for his work and consider him a good friend.”
