This week, a bipartisan group of lawmakers, led by Ways and Means Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam (R-IL), is urging the administration to return assets seized from small business owners under an abusive policy that has since been abandoned. A subcommittee hearing earlier this year examined how the administration was taking money from the bank accounts of small business owners, without due process, simply because of the way they were depositing their cash. Though the practice has been stopped in response to this effective oversight, the administration has not returned all the money to those who were affected.
