WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) congratulated Lori Harju on her retirement from Capitol Hill. Lori currently serves as Senior Advisor to Chairman Brady on the Ways and Means Committee and previously served as the long-time Chief of Staff of the Chairman’s personal congressional office.
“I have relied on Lori’s sound counsel and integrity for many years. No one works harder or more effectively. No one understands the issues or the people as well as she does. Lori played a critical role in my Ways and Means Chairmanship, and in my personal office,” said Chairman Brady. “I cannot thank her enough for her service to me, to our Committee, and to the country. I wish her the very best.”
Lori Harju leaves Capitol Hill at the end of the year with 25 years of government service, the last five dedicated to serving Chairman Brady and the people of Texas’ 8th Congressional District. Earlier in her career, Lori worked for three other Members of the Ways and Means Committee—Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI), Congressman Phil Crane (R-IL), and Congressman Guy Vander Jagt (R-MI). Lori also previously served as a political appointee for President George W. Bush at the United States Department of Commerce. She is a native of Kaleva, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University.
