Washington, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement regarding President Trump’s announcement of his intent to nominate Andrew M. Saul to be Commissioner of Social Security:

 “After nearly five and a half years without a Senate-confirmed Commissioner, I am pleased to see President Trump put forth a nominee to serve in this role. Andrew Saul’s history of working on important retirement issues will be valuable in this position, and I look forward to collaborating with him on ways we can make sure Social Security is providing the service Americans deserve. The Social Security Administration provides important benefits to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and their families and is an agency in need of strong leadership.

“I also want to applaud Social Security Subcommittee Chairman Sam Johnson (R-TX). His leadership and dedication in advocating for the President to nominate a Commissioner has been relentless. His hard work has paid off.”
