Washington, D.C. – House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement regarding the announcement by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide Medicare Advantage plans additional tools to negotiate lower Medicare Part B drug costs:
“This announcement from CMS reinforces our shared commitment to embrace a value-based and patient-centered health care system. Secretary Azar and Administrator Verma have been invaluable partners as we work to make Medicare work for patients. I look forward to reviewing these proposals and working together with the Administration to decrease prescription costs, reduce out-of-pocket expenses for seniors, and increase competition for Part B drugs, while also improving care coordination and medication adherence for patients.”
