Washington, D.C. – Today, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady (R-TX) announced changes to his senior staff for the Committee, naming Cheryl Vincent as the new Republican staff director for the Subcommittee on Worker and Family Support:

“It is exciting to welcome Cheryl back to our staff. In the 115th Congress, Cheryl previously served as professional staff for us and was a trusted advisor on a myriad of issues affecting our workers and children – including foster care, federal welfare programs, and implementing policies that move folks off the sidelines and into the frontlines of the labor market. Most recently, Cheryl worked for the Trump Administration, advising senior officials on how we can foster an environment where parents can thrive in our workforce. I am confident she’ll exceed in this role, and look forward to working together to keep the American Dream alive and well for families across the country.”

Vincent most recently served as senior advisor for legislative affairs at the Administration for Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and policy advisor to the White House Office of Economic Initiatives. Prior to that, she worked as professional staff on the Ways and Means Committee leading efforts to reform the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. She comes to the Committee with state experience, having worked in her home state of Ohio as deputy director in the Office of Human Services Innovation under former Governor John Kasich. Vincent began her career at HHS working for more than a decade on programs to support working families. She received her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and her master’s degree from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago.
