Alert: Deadline Extended for Medical Providers to Get Billions in Relief from Trump Administration

July 24, 2020 — Blog    — Coronavirus Bulletin

IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • The new deadline to apply is Friday, August 28.
  • From HHS: “HHS is currently working to address relief payments to new providers in 2020 along with those that have yet to receive any funding for a variety of reasons, including the fact that they may only bill commercially, or do not directly bill for the services they provide under the Medicare and Medicaid programs and thus did not receive any funding yet. Future announcements will be provided.”

Through the Provider Relief Fund, the Trump Administration expects to distribute $15 billion of congressionally appropriated funding to eligible Medicaid, dental, and CHIP providers. These funds have served as a vital resource to ensure Americans have access to health care.

Eligible providers must submit information to the Enhanced Provider Relief Fund Payment Portal. HHS will be holding a webcast July 27, at 3 PM ET to explain the application process.

Member offices and news outlets are encouraged to share this information with providers to ensure they do not miss the deadline. More information can be found via HHS’ dedicated website for providers.
