Brady Applauds CMS Proposals to Cut Red Tape, Reduce Burdens in Medicare to Help Providers, Patients

September 17, 2018 — Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced a proposed rule that would cut red tape and reduce regulatory and administrative burdens for Medicare providers. This announcement follows a series of letters recently sent from Chairman Brady and Health Subcommittee Chairman Peter Roskam (R-IL) to the agency encouraging action in this area:

“I applaud Secretary Azar and Administrator Verma for taking this important step. This action underscores our Committee’s mission for the Medicare Red Tape Relief Project: getting Washington out of the way so our providers can focus on delivering high-quality and affordable care for patients, especially those in rural areas with limited access to care. I look forward to continuing our work with the Administration to improve care, reduce costs, and cut the red tape to make our health care system truly work on behalf of patients across the country.”
