Brady Congratulates Senate on Passing Tax Reform Legislation

“Now it’s time to take the best of both the House and Senate bills … and finalize one piece of legislation that will dramatically improve the lives of Americans for generations to come.”
December 2, 2017 — Press Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement after the Senate voted to pass its version of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act:

“Today’s vote is a major step forward for tax reform and the American people. For the first time in 31 years, the House and the Senate have each passed legislation that will deliver real tax relief to families and job creators and revitalize our nation’s economy after years of sluggish growth. I applaud Leader McConnell, Chairman Hatch, and Senate Republicans for completing this crucial step in the process.

“Now it’s time to take the best of both the House and Senate bills, make them even stronger in a conference committee, and finalize one piece of legislation that will dramatically improve the lives of Americans for generations to come. This is our once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to deliver on our tax reform promise. I’m excited to work with my colleagues in the House and Senate on a plan we can send to President Trump this year.”
