Washington, D.C. — House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement after the House passed six pieces of legislation from the Ways and Means Committee as part of a broader House effort to combat the opioid crisis:

“Today, a bipartisan majority came together to bring relief to communities devastated by the opioid crisis. Championed by Ways and Means Committee Members, this legislation will help educate health care professionals and patients, improve access to addiction treatment and non-opioid alternatives, and update Medicare guidelines to encourage non-opioid pain management. These bills reflect the commitment by our Members on both sides of the aisle to do everything possible to bring relief to our friends and families affected by this crisis.”
