WASHINGTON, D.C. – Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) today released the following statement after the House voted to pass a resolution that begins the process of repealing Obamacare.
“Today, the House took a critical first step toward repealing the Affordable Care Act and delivering relief to the millions of Americans who continue to be hurt by skyrocketing premiums, dwindling choices, and higher taxes.
“People in my district and across the country sent a clear signal in November. They are sick of Obamacare. It hasn’t improved their care, lowered their costs, or kept its other promises. With today’s repeal vote, we are sending a clear signal of our own: relief is on the way.
“In the weeks ahead, Ways and Means Republicans will work to repeal the law’s harmful taxes and mandates and move forward with the thoughtful, step-by-step health care solutions Texans and all Americans deserve.”
