Brady Statement on June 2018 Jobs Report

July 6, 2018 — Press Releases

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) released the following statement in response to the Labor Department’s June 2018 jobs report:

“With 213,000 jobs added, this jobs report is welcome news and underscores the strong gains our economy continues to see following tax reform.  We have gone from a nation that asks ‘where are the jobs?’ to one that asks ‘where are the workers?’  Republicans promised to grow our economy, and we are seeing businesses expanding, wages rising for our workers, and Main Street optimism soaring.  The GOP tax cuts continue to grow our economy and we look forward to continued expansion ahead.”

Note: The U.S. Department of Labor reported today that the economy added 213,000 jobs in June and the unemployment rate was 4.0 percent.
