Brady Statement on Senate Health Care Vote

July 28, 2017 — Press Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) issued the following statement after last night’s health care vote in the Senate:

“The Senate’s failure to act is a letdown, plain and simple. We made a promise to the American people to repeal and replace Obamacare. The House delivered on that promise, and I truly appreciate the Senators who kept their word to do the same.

“This failing law is getting worse by the day, as families in my district and across the country continue to face fewer and fewer choices, skyrocketing premiums, and less access to the care they need. Simply letting Obamacare collapse will cause even more pain for them.

“The House passed a bill to rescue Americans before our nation’s health care system implodes. For those trapped in Obamacare, we must continue to look for immediate solutions to deliver relief, stop premiums from soaring even higher, and help people get the health care that’s right for them.”
