-The IRS started adding thousands of employees to take calls and answer questions regarding “Economic Impact Payments.”

-This new effort will help Americans who may have questions get answers quickly.

Details:

As part of the CARES Act, most Americans received payments of up to $1,200 from the IRS. This was cash assistance to give families a financial boost during this time of global pandemic.

To date, the IRS has reported that over 140 million payments have been made to Americans.

While the Administration continues to work around the clock to help families and small businesses, the IRS enlisted 3,500 workers as phone operators to help individuals who may have questions regarding their payment.
