Brady Applauds Senate Passage of the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016

Senate Action Sends Bipartisan Bill to Reform MTB Process to the President's Desk
May 10, 2016 — Press Releases

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) praised the Senate for passing the American Manufacturing Competitiveness Act of 2016. The bipartisan, bicameral legislation, which overwhelmingly passed the House last month, will reform the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill process and help American manufacturers compete and succeed in the global market.

“American manufacturers are now one step closer to having the clarity, consistency, and confidence they need to reduce their costs, grow their businesses, and create jobs. Our bill also gives Americans the transparency they deserve. It’s exactly the type of commonsense, pro-growth solution we need to strengthen our economy.

“I congratulate the Senate and thank its members for working with us to streamline this process and supporting American manufacturing. I urge the President to sign this important legislation into law right away.”
