Camp Congratulates Jim Renacci on Being Named to Ways & Means Committee

Announcement Completes the Committee’s Roster for 113th Congress
February 14, 2013 — Press Releases

Washington, DC – Today, Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) congratulated and welcomed Congressman Jim Renacci (R-OH) to the Ways and Means Committee.

Announcing his selection as the final Republican to join the Committee Camp said, “Congressman Renacci’s background as a small business owner means that he understands how policies written in Washington can affect the daily decisions a business makes about hiring, investing and contributing to their local economy.  That first-hand knowledge, along with his legislative experience, makes him a valuable addition to our talented team of policymakers.”

Commenting on his selection to the Ways and Means Committee, Renacci stated, “It is an absolute honor to be named to the House Ways and Means Committee.  As a Certified Public Accountant and business owner, I have dealt firsthand with the complexity of our tax code and its more than 4 million words.  Both Congressional Republicans and Democrats – and even President Obama – agree we must reform our massive, confusing and inefficient system of taxation. I look forward to bringing my expertise to the front lines of how we can accomplish that goal.”

The selection of Congressman Renacci fills the vacancy of Senator Tim Scott (R-SC).  Scott, who was named to the Ways and Means Committee in November of 2012, was appointed to the U.S. Senate in December 2012.
