The Congressional Caucus for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation willkick off the 111th Congress with a news conference on Wednesday. Ways& Means Members Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Wally Herger (R-CA), thecurrent and former Trade Subcommittee Ranking Members respectively,will participate in the news conference.
The APEC Caucus will be working with APEC officials and interestedstakeholders on numerous issues affecting U.S. interests in theAsia-Pacific region. During the course of the year, the Caucus plans tomeet regularly with policymakers, political leaders, academics, andbusiness leaders on such issues as trade, energy, finance andinvestment, climate change, agriculture, intellectual property rights,food safety, and corporate social responsibility.
